Earlier this year, the Memorial Heights Redevelopment Authority (MHRA) launched the final round of community engagement for the Greater Heights Strategic Connections Plan, a grant-funded study designed to improve how people move safely throughout the Greater Heights area. Residents, business owners, and community stakeholders showed up, completed surveys, and shared the study with their neighbors. That input mattered, and the plan is now complete.
What Is the Greater Heights Strategic Connections Plan?
The Greater Heights Strategic Connections Plan identifies practical projects that make it safer and easier to walk, bike, take transit, and drive while strengthening connections between neighborhoods, schools, parks, and local destinations. The study covered an area much larger than the MHRA footprint and the findings give MHRA and other agencies and partner organizations the information needed to prioritize upcoming projects and pursue grant funding that will help bring improvements to life.
How the Community Shaped the Plan
Community input was essential at every stage of this process. Residents and stakeholders participated in person at events and online through the project survey at mhraconnects.com. The feedback gathered helped refine the recommended projects and ensured the plan reflects the needs and priorities of the people who live, work, and travel through Greater Heights every day.
What Comes Next
This plan gives MHRA and its partners the information needed to prioritize future transportation projects and pursue grant funding to help bring improvements to Greater Heights. The work done by the community during the engagement process is now a resource that will support investment in the area for years to come.
