The Memorial Heights Redevelopment Authority (MHRA), also known as Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 5 (TIRZ 5), is dedicated to building public facilities and infrastructure that enhance the quality of life for Houston residents. A key aspect of this mission is improving transportation safety and accessibility, as seen in the Shepherd Durham Project, launched in 2022 and now making significant progress in its construction phase.
As this transformative project moves forward, TIRZ 5 has also commissioned the Three Study Areas Mobility and Drainage Study to assess transportation, mobility, and drainage needs in three adjacent locations. Building on the momentum of the Shepherd Durham Project, this study aims to enhance neighborhood connectivity, improve drainage, and create safer environments for pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and transit users alike. By investing in these initiatives, MHRA continues its commitment to fostering a more connected, resilient, and accessible Houston.
